Privacy Policy

Churchy is a US church finder that lets you read and write public reviews and ratings of churches. This policy explains exactly what we collect, how it is used, and the control you have over it.
What we collect
- Email address — used to sign you in and secure your account.
- Display name — shown alongside the reviews you write.
- Reviews and ratings you write — these are public and visible to everyone, attributed to your display name.
- Sign in with Apple identifier — if you use Sign in with Apple, we store the identifier Apple provides so we can recognize you on return visits.
- Usage data — how the app is used: screens visited, taps, and session replays, collected through Microsoft Clarity (see "Analytics" below).
- Updates-list email — if you leave your email on our website to hear about updates, we store that address for that purpose only. Want off the list? Email jhoneck82@gmail.com and we'll remove it — and deleting your Churchy account removes it automatically.
Location
When you use "Near Me" search, your device location is handled on-device and sent to us only as transient search coordinates to find nearby churches. We do not store your location, and it is never linked to your account.
Analytics
The app uses Microsoft Clarity to understand how people use Churchy — which screens are visited, where taps land, and session replays of app usage. Fields where you type credentials or contact details (passwords, email addresses, names) are masked and are not captured in recordings. This data is used only to improve the app; it is not used for advertising, and we do not use it to build a profile of you across other apps or websites. Clarity's own handling of this data is described in Microsoft's privacy statement.
What we do not do
- No advertising.
- No tracking you across other companies' apps or websites.
- No sale of your data to anyone, ever.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account at any time in the app: Profile → Delete account. This permanently removes your account and every review you have written. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
